Jackie Busch – English teacher

I am asked often about people that are special to me and in what ways – well I will tell you about a lady that was my English teacher in high school. First, let me set this up – her husband Bob is the greatest guy but very cheap. He would always provide for Jackie and family but when it came to cars, he could not resist a bargain. He bought a sleeper van one time that would break down several times on their yearly trip to Florida. It was funny but Bob knows how to get a deal, I guess. Bob and I collected flags from around the world one time, I will just leave it at that. We were in so much trouble with his bride, Jackie.

So in school, she would tell me things like – man you can do it, you are such a great kid and the world is yours. I needed to hear that at the time and her positive reinforcement and interest in me was very deep and special. Thanks Jackie. She loves to tell story about giving me a zero for sleeping in class one year. It was a long night the night before and I just could not stay awake, but made it on time. Candidly, several of my classmates felt the same. We all got zeros.

Thanks Jackie for being a cool teacher and influence in my life!
