Before Barefoot week After ->

I am nervous – we have a huge event happening in 5 hours. (Barefoot Week) I have been on interviews most of the day and this week is going to be very hectic. So why am I nervous?

By June 8th ,we will have millions of people around the world plugged into Soles4Souls participating to help us put shoes on 300 million children that do not own a pair. This is a huge deal, a lot of celebrities, blogs, interviews, talk shows and new strategies will be happening this week. Around the US we will be distributing tens of thousands of pairs of shoes to help the hurting right here at home. Oh and did I mention that many news and radio folks will be barefoot this week? This week I will be barefoot also doing my normal routine around the town managing the charity. Wednesday I have meetings outside the office and will have a Barefoot Dinner meeting at the Flemings Restaurant – they offered for free. Thanks Flemings.

So really why am I nervous? I guess I am nervous because I am not the celebrity here, just the facilitator. I am firm on the celebrities are the children that we give shoes to. They matter, they are special – and should be the center of attention. (and do something about it)
