You may have heard that President Obama has declared this summer the “Summer of Service.” The government has set up a dedicated website (www.serve.gov) for networking, tips and to help track the progress of various community projects around our nation.

At Soles4Souls, we are big fans of grassroots community projects, especially those that involve collecting new and gently worn shoes to send to people in need. We have thousands of examples of people from all walks of life who have joined with us to make a difference, one pair at a time.

One of these people is Sondra Clark, a dynamic young person who wrote a book that features 77 fun and effective ways to get involved in your own community.
