Rumors are flying that Apple will be unveiling its third generation iPad early March. While its original introduction by Steve Jobs in 2010 left skeptics underwhelmed, the product has done incredibly well. In fact, according to Pew Research close to one in three Americans owns a tablet computer. Twenty-nine percent of Americans have a tablet, an e-reader, or both.
So what does this have to do with you?
Whether or not you’ve noticed how incredibly popular tablets have become, there’s no denying that Americans are leaving desktops behind and opting for the iPad (or similar device) to do everything from email to social media to shopping.
Nonprofits should consider the tablet as they craft their digital strategy.
Here’s my advice:
- Make sure your donations page is compatible with every type of screen possible: desktop, laptop, tablet, and smart phone.
- Make sure the language you are choosing is concise and easy to read on a smaller screen.
- Consider utilizing the most current technology in your organization. Stop pretending it doesn’t exist.
How has the mass adoption of tablet PCs impacted your digital strategy?
